Marsh and Stream Explorers
This webinar introduces the Marsh and Stream Explorers project, a collaborative initiative between Maine Audubon and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection that trains volunteers to survey macroinvertebrates in streams and freshwater marshes. Participants will learn how the presence and absence of these aquatic insects serve as indicators of wetland health and water quality. The webinar covers the project's accomplishments, successes, and future goals, with information about how attendees can get involved in protecting their local watershed. In-person field training for survey techniques will follow the webinar.
